Scenario
When i was a kid, before the silkroad was opened, this land was just a desert. Nobody interested in this remote land. One day I, who had been living only in Donwhang, accompanied my father to Jangan in my first experience out of Donwhang.
I saw a great scene while I was following my father in the desert. This was the huge river known as the Yellow river. I had never seen such a river around my hometown while in the desert, so the river fascinated me. There was not enough time to fully take in the experience, but it left a deep impression on me as a child.
Later I recounted the experience to my friends and we promised to be boatman in the future crossing the huge river.
Since then, as we grew up and came to grips with the world, our friends left us to fuifill their own dreams. Only Wangwon and I didn't give up the dream to be boatmen and did our best to fulfill our dreams.
One day, like usual, we were training to be boatmen, floating a boat on the river.
When we both were pulling oars, suddenly a man and a woman began to run away from the river. We were taken back by the sight, so we just watched them running away.
A huge snake appeared out of the river and launched something like marbles at them. The effects of these marbles were so powerful that all living beings were changed in weird ways when they were attacked. The banks of the river were ruined, and my friend and I ran away in fright.
The man and woman could not escape from the attack of the snake. When they were hit with the marbles, they were changed into a strange mix of man and lizard, and fell to the ground. Seeing that scene, we ran out of there with in an absolute hurry. Wangwon fell to the ground as we ran away and hurt his leg. While he was down, unfortunately a marble flew towards him.
So I jumped to rescue him from the attack. And we barely saved our lives.
However, I myself could not escape from the marble, and as it went past by my right leg it grazed it. My right leg slowly became paralysed.
The snake disappeared into the river and Wangwon appologized to me crying.
I gave up my dream because I can't use my right leg at all. So I became a mere ticket seller of the ferry here. Wangwon also quit training and drank wine and immersed himself in gambling. He finally fell into a huge debt. I heard he works at the gambling house in a hopeless attempt to pay back his debt.
Now we are no longer in touch with each other, but I still miss the old times when I was training with Wangwon.
Ah, I've taken too much of your time. I'm sorry.
